FIRST, I do not ship batteries!!! Therefore, you will need to find 4 AA batteries for this to work.<br />SECOND, this does work when you put in the batteries. The instructions for setting it for operation are in fine print embossed in the plastic on the back.<br />THE REST: The clock case is plastic. The hourly "cuckoo" function has the doors at the top open, Santa says Merry Christmas against a background of part of a Christmas hymn, and the Christmas tree scene at the lower part rotates.
